Anyone knows how I can tell Gmail I don’t spam?

I started a newsletter a few weeks ago. I use Mailchimp. Many people get it in their spam folder.

I did not add anyone that did not want it (it’s double opt-in). It gets about 60% average open rate. It’s sent from my own personal email account on gmail, the real one.

I do not include any images in the emails, just texts and links. I use the most simple template available on MailChimp (just one column).

Yet, I have many friends who tell me it goes straight into their gmail spam folder, like Michael Ortali ( see picture above).

Anyone can help me solve this? @mailchimp @gmail any friend that can help there?
