I just returned from 1.5 months of work with the Yawanawà tribe, integrating my third one month stay in the village. I will start sharing again here about it.
Yesterday I watched Chasing the Present a 2019 documentary you can find on iTunes. It’s basic for those of you already on their spiritual path but good to watch.
I recommend it for those of you interested in learning more about getting on a spiritual path and ending the permanent loop that makes people unhappy: chasing more material stuff, recognition, social validation or generally more mind and ego activity that keeps…
Since this is a new newsletter and a new podcast I thought I should introduce myself briefly.
I live in San Francisco, California since 2007. I learned from the incredible technology entrepreneurs at the heart of Silicon Valley and also spent time on my two passions, kite-surfing and paragliding which are both easy to practice 20 minutes away from my home.
I was born on July 14, 1972 (yep Cancer) in the South of France, a small city called Perpignan an hour and a half drive from Barcelona in Spain, on the Mediterranean coast.
Continued on my new newsletter, with a podcast:
La France me manque!
« Qui serait, selon vous, la pire tête à claque du milieu de la tech?
Dreams and sleep have always fascinated me.
When we dream, we are in another world. We do not really understand how consciousness comes to a baby and we do not really understand where we go when we dream. Measuring sleep is a good first step. I am currently testing Dreem; a headband that does just that.
The founder of Dreem, Hugo Mercier, released a new version of his application this week. It’s like a sleeping coach; analyzing your sleep by measuring your brainwaves and using AI to improve your sleep. This new version adds recording naps and meditation programs. Dreem…
Who are the best Blockchain speakers?
Finding the best speakers is always difficult. This week I have been working on a product we have used in the past that we call “Call for speakers”. This product helps event organizers find the best speakers by topic, crowdsourced by their communities.
All recommended Blockchain speakers are public and updated live with your contributions so Everyone can benefit from the results.
This “Call for speaker product” is a work in progress…
Greetings from Innsbruck, Austria, where I’m about to MC a great private corporate event focused on the brain (human and machines) for NTT Data. I took my paragliding wing with me and flew yesterday. Stunning scenery.
“I could die in ten years. That’s why I am doing all the crazy things I am doing. There isn’t a minute to lose. We need to do things. We need to laugh. We need to take risks. We need to dream. There is no bigger risk than to leave this planet without having lived what we wanted to live. …
I had the honor of interviewing Larry at LeWeb. I have been to 5 Burning Man festivals and it changed how I see the world in many ways.
Radical self expression (show up as you wish and do pretty much what you want), no advertising and commercial activity, gift economy with no cash, permanent collaboration and openness, leave no trace are some of the values.
Larry showed me another way to see the world. An Utopia that is in many ways better than the world we live in.
It helped me being myself and more present without the constant wonder of what others think.
This year’s temple burn will be especially sad and special. A reminder that nothing and no one is eternal, at least on this incarnation.
Greetings from Austin Texas. I just hosted a session at South by Southwest on Artificial Intelligence with fantastic speakers.
Adam Cheyer — co-founder of Siri now building “the Siri of Samsung” as his new company got recently acquired
Daphne Koller — co-founder of Coursera, McArthur Genius award, Stanford computer science professor
Nell Watson — entrepreneur, engineer who wrote two books on philosophy and focusing on machine ethics
I’m hoping SXSW publishes the whole hour of our panel as I really enjoyed it but here are a few things I learned.
Siri doesn’t understand my “frenglish”
The highlight for me was…
I landed in Paris and went straight “home” to Station F. I have an office there now. It’s the largest startup campus in the world with 34,000 sq meters. Not even a year after its launch it hosts 3000 entrepreneurs and will soon offer onsite apartments for 600 of them.
It’s a “campus” and not an accelerator as Station F does not invest in startups but helps them with everything they need. More than 30 programs support startups by vertical or region (there is a France-China…
